Chris used this as a case study during the challenger training in Barcelona and implementing the Teach, Tailor, Take Control model finally convinced Sue of the need for a QTOF, leading her to submit a business case for funding. Gordon had a great initiative to accelerate things by collaborating and building an extensive LCMS method using their own samples. After numerous visits and discussions Gordon had converted their GCMS method to an LC/QTOF method, omitting their laborious sample derivatisation and reduced the run time by 75%.
During a meeting to present some new data, Sue announced the funding had been approved, revealing their budget and that they would be going to tender. The following week Iain, Gordon and Chris had arranged an on-site training event for the staff, where Gordon presented the Advantages of HRMS for Toxicology – Sue’s final comment being ‘Wow - This makes me want to get back in the lab!’
The following day we took the main users to the Agilent Measurement Suite at White City, where Gordon demonstrated his new method, the software and hardware perfectly. The tender was written around our solution and using the Research Support Program we were able to reach their budget, supplying a 1290II/6546 QTOF and 3 Year Silver Service Contract. Congratulations to Chris, Gordon and Iain for a great win in this prestigious account!
